Privacy Policy
Effective Date: April 10, 2026 · Last Updated: April 11, 2026
1. Introduction
RankCheck SEO ("RankCheck," "we," "us," or "our") respects your privacy and is committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using the RankCheck SEO website and service (the "Service"), you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: information you give us directly, information collected automatically, and information from third parties.
Information you provide to us:
- Contact information: name, email address, and business name
- Billing information: billing address, country, and payment card details (payment card details are collected directly by Stripe, our payment processor, and never touch our servers)
- Business information: your website URL, industry, and information about competitors you want us to analyze
- Communications: any messages you send us via email or support forms
Information collected automatically:
- Usage data: pages visited, time spent on pages, referring URLs, and general interaction with our website
- Device and log data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, and timestamps
- Cookies and similar technologies: we use cookies for essential site functionality and, where applicable, analytics (see Section 7)
Information from third parties:
- Payment information: we receive transaction details from Stripe, including whether a payment succeeded, the last four digits of the card used, and the customer identifier — but not full card numbers
- Public SEO data: we gather publicly available data about your website and its competitors from search engines and third-party SEO data providers as part of delivering your audit
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide the Service, including generating and delivering your SEO audit reports and monthly monitoring reports
- Process payments and manage subscriptions through Stripe
- Send transactional emails such as receipts, renewal notices, and report deliveries
- Respond to your support requests and communicate with you about your account
- Improve the Service, including analyzing aggregate usage patterns to make the product better
- Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our rights
We do not sell your personal information to third parties, and we do not use your information for advertising purposes.
4. How We Share Your Information
We share your information only as necessary to operate the Service and as described below:
- Service providers: we share information with trusted third parties that help us operate the Service, including Stripe (payment processing), Netlify (website hosting), Google Analytics (website analytics), email delivery providers, and SEO data APIs. These providers are only permitted to use your information for the specific services they provide to us.
- Legal compliance: we may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or other legal process, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of RankCheck SEO, our users, or others.
- Business transfers: if RankCheck SEO is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you of any such change and any choices you may have.
5. Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as you have an active account with us and for a reasonable period afterward to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Specifically:
- Account and billing information is retained for as long as your subscription is active and for at least 7 years after cancellation for tax and accounting purposes.
- Audit reports and usage data are retained for up to 2 years after your last activity, after which they are deleted or anonymized.
- Support communications are retained for up to 3 years.
You may request deletion of your personal information at any time (see Section 8).
6. Data Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction. These measures include encryption of data in transit (HTTPS), using reputable third-party providers with strong security practices, and limiting access to personal data to those who need it.
However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security and are not responsible for breaches caused by factors outside our reasonable control.
7. Cookies and Tracking
We use a minimal number of cookies for essential website functionality. We also use Google Analytics 4 to understand how visitors use our site, which sets cookies to measure pageviews, sessions, and general engagement. Google Analytics may collect information such as your IP address, device type, browser, referring URL, and pages visited. We use this data solely to improve the Service and do not use it for advertising or remarketing.
You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on, or by controlling cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect the functionality of certain parts of the Service.
8. Your Rights and Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have certain rights regarding your personal information, including:
- Access: the right to request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction: the right to ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Deletion: the right to request that we delete your personal information, subject to certain legal exceptions
- Opt-out of marketing: the right to unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time (transactional emails such as receipts will continue as long as your subscription is active)
- Data portability: the right to receive your information in a portable format
To exercise any of these rights, email us at rankcheckseo@gmail.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and in accordance with applicable law.
